Will having an extra partition on my hard drive slow my computer?

i accidentally added a E: drive to my computer, now i have a C: and E:, i haven't done anythign to my E: drive i just made it and did nothing with it, but whenever i boot up my computer, it asks me which drive to start with, but i was just wondering, should i delete the extra E: partition that i dont need ??? if i delete it will it change my computer it anyway as in extra space/faster speed?

and does E: run at the same time as C:? because one time i started with the C: drive that had nothing in it, and it had no virus protection... so does this mean that since I have no virus protection in my E: drive but i do in C: drive, will i still get viruses?

my main two questions are the last one i just said a few seconds ago, and the one in the first paragraph, please i am desperate for answers!!!! :(

it won't cause any problems it is kind of annoying to have another partition there when you don't want it but other than that it won't cause any problems having a partition is no different to your computer than having another hard drive pluged in it sees it as that way

It is one drive two partitions, you have virus protection on c: partition E:partition is protected.about the speed when the computer check two partitions it takes more time than to check one partition, yes it will slow the computer but a fraction of a second, I wouldn't worry about that.
