My computer has become too slow. What is happening?

I have Road Runner as my internent provider and just purchased a new computer and after a month it has become too slow. I have antivirus software and spyware protection, including firewall protection. So whats making it go to slow?

You probably have too many startup programs. Try minimizing that.

Go to the START menu and pick RUN. Then type MSCONFIG and click RUN.

Click on the STARTUP tab, and turn off the things that you don't need, of course, you want your firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware running.

Try Defragging once in a while

Use Disk Cleanup once in a while

Run full scans for spyware and viruses regularly.

You probably have accumulated a bunch of spyware.

AntiSpyware watches for cookies and other malicious things put on your computer by websites that want to spy on you.

You should have Windows Defender. It is free from Microsoft and watches your system prevents programs from taking over your home page etc.
