Why has my computer been switching itself off.?

Hi, everyone. My computer just latelly has been switching itself off when i am on the game sites. I have been using the same game sites for two years and it has not happened before. It doesn't switch off on anything else so i don't understand it. I mainly use gamershood and it has been ok in the past, so what would cause it to go off by itself. After it has gone off it won't come on straight away, i have to leave it about half an hour, then it fires up again with no problem. I have always had norton antivirus protection on my computer and wonder if it was anything to do with that, which i carn't see myself really as it has never happened before. It's quite a mystery really.

Can anyone help?

Could be a software issue but more likely hardware, e.g. the PSU / motherboard or maybe the CPU.

Probably not a bad idea to give it a spring clean inside. You鈥檒l need a can of compressed air from your PC shop, an anti-static wrist band and a cotton bud.

Switch OFF the pc but leave it plugged in (can help to earth any static). Whip the cover off, stick the wrist band on and pop the cotton bud gently in the fan (to stop it spinning too fast when you spray the air on it). Have a good spray round inside and blow out any dust. You might want to remove the fan(s) and do them separately (and gently) with the cotton bud. Also might be a good idea to have the heat-sink off and remove any accumulated dust that鈥檚 trapped between the blades. Take care not to dislodge anything inside the pc and DON鈥橳 stick your vac in there!
