I dont have virus protection.

You know how you can download songs from there? That is because you files from their computer are sent to your computer via internet with ABSOLUTELY no real filter for virus code and/or malitious text/code. That means that if someone wanted to infect your computer with a virus, all they would have to do is to create a virus and name it as a song you like or a movie you want to watch. You would then download it and get the virus.

The best thing to do would be to know how much space a song or movie would take up and make sure that the file you download or want is close to what you think is how much space it would take up and that the space it takes up isn't relatively high or relatively low.

Then get a virus protection installed. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Spybot, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info
Limewire doesnt per say but it is a file sharing program. when you agree to share files there is an option there and i dont remember exactly how. Any body else can browse and send things to your computer that is knowledgeable in doing these malicious things so beware and go to grisoft.com and download the internet security protection program immediately. It works for me.
Not a virus, but tons of spyware and software that create pop-ups, etc. Note that when you click OK on their agreement, you're allowing Limewire to share much of your PC to allow it to share files. If you still have your old PC, use it for Limewire and you won't have to worry about the pop-ups and trojans. Hope this helps...
You must get anti virus and firewall as soon as possible, also antispyware. Free ones are avast (or avg), comodo and spyware terminator.
