People watching me on the computer?

I had hackers so I took my computer in to whip everything out lost everything and cost alot. And put a anti virus protection on with firewall etc.. all the bells and whistles. Yet they are back again when im playing poker they know whats in my hand and now how to play accordingly . I even went to a brand new site but they have found me again. Only thing I can think of is that a few times my anti virus protection says its being turned off temporarily doens't say why then goes off i have no protection they must come in then and when the virus gets turned back on. I'm getting fed up with the computer no sense keeping it if this keeps happening and I have no privacy. I also would appreciate if someone can explain how people can see me on my computer . There must be a gadget out there to watch and stalk people its very creepy.

Please help... Im fed up with keeping my computer its not worth it anymore if i dont' have my privacy.

People watching me on the computer?internet security software

You will need to do another fresh install to get rid and get yourself a NAT Router. This way you are anonymous on the internet. It works as a Firewall and will reject any unsolicited data. Without it you are open to any incoming packets and your IP address can be seen. Don't click on any links or attachments in emails unless you know the source.

Way to much virus protection?

Hi all, is there such a thing as WAY to much virus protection for ones computer, I have a friend who has downloaded just about everything there is out there, now does this make my P.C slower as it has to go throught all these protectors, since he has done this I,m finding my P.C is acting very slow, will someone inform me on this, is too much, to much. Thanks.

In addition to the first statement all that protection will definitely make your computer slower, maybe even crash it, they all load up when you turn your computer on. Not only will more than 1 anti virus conflict with one another but the anti virus software by it self uses a lot of resources. Go to cnet or download.com and read the reviews and decide exactly what you want to keep and delete the rest! Peace!

Way to much virus protection?network security

Yes. In fact, more than one antivirus program is too much. Find a good one and use only it. It's okay to add a firewall, pop-up blocker, and spyware scanner (ad-aware, Spybot), but only 1 antivirus.
yes! the perfect combination is one antispyware and one antivirus program. and maybe one firewall if it doesn't conflict with two former programs. the thing is that security programs often conflicts with each other, so if you decide to keep for example two antiviruses, don't run both at the same time. another problem which causes slow computer performing is that if you run like five security programs and each of them monitors your machine, they take over computer memory, so you are unable to do anything else with it.

How can i put my virus protection up to date?ktm

It's most likely referring to the ''virus signature'' which are normally updated every day~It's a wild world out there and, new virus show every day. Some of the antivirus programs even update hourly..Nothing to be alarmed about, just set your update to automatic. You might check and be sure it's atleast daily..Smart move on your part to install the program.

At least 48% of computer user never bother to renew their coverage.

Good luck~!

well..just look for the Word ''Up-Date' in the Menu,,,or try to go to the options,,,,,or use the HELP section
Open Avast control panel and click Help and see if it has ''Check for Updates'' or similar. Otherwise go to http://www.filehippo.com/ and look for the Avast update to the latest version.
right click taskbar icon

select updating

select program update

open settings and click update

  • WIll Yahoo interfere with my McAfee internet protection?

I bought the McAfee internet Suite to protect my computer, but should I keep my yahoo protection, too, or will this interfere with my McAfee?

WIll Yahoo interfere with my McAfee internet protection?live update

They will probably keep detecting the others ongoing processes.

WIll Yahoo interfere with my McAfee internet protection?norten

No, you should remove the old one first. Two different internet virus scan programs can conflict each other, corrupt each other, or detect one another as a virus. McAfee's installer might actually force you to uninstall yahoo first.

A note, however... watch mcafee's protection. I have used it and it is not good at all. When you computer starts up, check the system tray (next to the clock) and make sure that the m logo stays red. I had a problem that it would shut off the protection as soon as the computer turned on. When I went to reenable it, it froze my computer. This is just something to look out for!
There will be a confliction--it just like running two antivirus programs at same time...not mention the power it will take from your computor.
i shut down all existing protection when i installed McAfee...

it should give enough protection (i do keep yahoo pop up blocker on though)
i dont think it will interfere. they both remove viruses, and unless they identify each other as viruses, keep them both
You will probably get some conflicts between the McAfee and Yahoo virus protection. Try running them together and if there are problems, you can disable the Yahoo virus protection from the tray icon or from programs unter AT%26T online protection (if your OS is Windows).
No it won't, I have Yahoo protection, and McAfee, and I have had no problems.
they will confict with each other, you will need to remove the yahoo protection before you install mcafee.

While you are on www.download.com, go for Antivir personal edition. Free and effective. Bitdefender is another good stuff. I paid for it, I am using it for a year, but there is also a free verion available.

As people answered, adaware and spybot are very nice tools.

CCleaner is a cleaner to protect your privacy. Very good and trouble free. Can help to get your PC faster.
